The Newland Christmas Tree Festival celebrates the reality that The High Country is the Fraser Fir Christmas Tree capital of the world. Our first annual festival will be held on Thanksgiving weekend of 2024 and will extend through New Year’s Day with trees donated by tree farmers staying illuminated until then.
As part of this celebration, we are inviting choirs and bands from schools and churches to perform for a duration of five minutes up to 45 minutes either Friday November 29 or Saturday November 30, 2024. We are using the gazebo in Newland’s town square as the venue.
Elementary and Middle schools are invited to decorate a tree that will be placed in the town square to be shown to the public for a few weeks. These trees will be available for sale in an effort to raise funds for the schools and for the festival.
