Shweta Dahal-Mishra graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill in 2015, receiving her journalism major through the top-ranked UNC Hussman School of Journalism and her creative writing minor through the UNC Creative Writing Program. She has visited Newland seasonally since 2006 and has lived in Newland full-time since 2020. Since 2016, she's been a full-time mom and homestead-caretaker, freelancing in her free time.
